Terms & Privacy

Last updated: April 28, 2026 · Effective immediately for all users

1. Terms of Service

By accessing or using Warrantree (“the Service”, “Platform”), operated by Shankar, Founder of Warrantree (“we”, “us”, “our”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree, do not use the platform.

Warrantree is currently in closed beta. The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranty of any kind. Features, pricing, and availability may change at any time without notice during the beta phase.

You must be at least 18 years old to use this Service. By registering, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and up to date.

2. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of applicable laws.
  • Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent appliance or warranty information.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or otherwise access the platform's systems or data without authorisation.
  • Transmit malicious code, spam, or disruptive content of any kind.
  • Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any organisation.
  • Use AI features (concierge, repair estimator) to seek advice in place of qualified professional services.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access immediately if these terms are violated, without prior notice and without liability.

3. AI Features — Disclaimer

⚠️ AI tips are for informational purposes only. Always consult a certified technician for electrical repairs.

Warrantree uses artificial intelligence (OpenAI GPT-4) to power the Concierge chat, Repair Cost Estimator, and Warranty Lookup features. These AI-generated outputs:

  • Are for informational and guidance purposes only and do not constitute professional, technical, legal, or financial advice.
  • May be incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated — AI models have knowledge cutoffs and limitations.
  • Should never replace the judgement of a qualified and certified appliance technician, especially for electrical, gas, or safety-critical repairs.
  • Must not be used as the sole basis for warranty claims, insurance decisions, or financial planning.

Warrantree accepts no liability for any loss, damage, personal injury, or outcome arising from reliance on AI-generated suggestions. Always obtain a written assessment from a certified professional before authorising any repair or making any claim.

4. Warranty Information — Disclaimer

Warranty records stored on Warrantree are provided by users or retrieved from publicly available manufacturer data. We do not verify the accuracy, completeness, or enforceability of any warranty information.

  • Always verify warranty coverage directly with your product manufacturer or authorised warranty provider before making a claim.
  • Warrantree is not a warranty provider, insurer, or underwriter and does not administer or honour warranty claims.
  • Storing a warranty record on Warrantree does not constitute proof of warranty coverage for any legal or claims purpose.
  • Expiry dates and coverage details displayed are based on user-entered data and may not reflect actual warranty terms.

5. ROI Calculator — Disclaimer

Savings figures, ROI estimates, and cost projections shown in the ROI Calculator and Monthly Summary are illustrative estimates based on industry averages and information you provide. They are not guaranteed and should not be relied upon as financial advice. Actual outcomes may vary significantly based on local pricing, appliance condition, and service provider rates.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Warrantree and its founder, officers, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of revenue, personal injury, or property damage arising from:

  • Your use of or inability to use the platform.
  • Reliance on AI-generated information, repair estimates, or warranty data.
  • Unauthorised access to or alteration of your data.
  • Any decision made based on content displayed on the platform.

Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to Warrantree in the 12 months preceding the claim (which, during the free beta, is zero).

7. Beta Product Notice

Warrantree is currently a beta product offered free of charge to a limited group of pilot users. As a beta user you acknowledge that:

  • The platform may contain bugs, errors, or incomplete features.
  • Data stored during the beta may be subject to migration, modification, or loss as the product evolves.
  • We may discontinue, modify, or restrict the Service at any time with reasonable notice where practicable.
  • Your feedback may be used to improve the product. We will not attribute your feedback publicly without consent.

Third-party processors

We use the following sub-processors, each governed by their own privacy and data protection policies:

9. Your Data Rights

Regardless of your country, you have the following rights over your personal data:

  • Access: request a copy of all personal data we hold about you.

  • Portability: export your appliance and warranty data in a machine-readable format.
  • Opt-out: unsubscribe from any communication at any time by replying STOP (WhatsApp) or using the unsubscribe link (email).
  • Objection: object to processing of your data for any purpose beyond what is strictly necessary to provide the Service.

To exercise any of these rights, email shankar@warrantree.app. We will respond within 30 days.

Users in the European Union or EEA may also lodge a complaint with their local supervisory authority under GDPR. California residents have additional rights under CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, and opt-out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information).

10. Cookies & Session Storage

Warrantree uses a single first-party session cookie (wt_guest) to maintain your login session for 30 days. This cookie is:

  • Strictly necessary — without it, the platform cannot identify you between visits.
  • HTTP-only and Secure — it cannot be accessed by JavaScript or transmitted over non-HTTPS connections.
  • Never used for tracking, advertising, or cross-site analytics.

We do not use third-party analytics cookies, advertising pixels, or tracking scripts. LocalStorage is used only to remember your email hint for returning users — no personal data beyond your email and name hint is stored in the browser.

11. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notice at least 7 days before taking effect. Continued use of the platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
